Where you stay decides how easy the weekend is. In Budapest the best choice for most stag groups is the centre on the Pest side, close to the bars. Here are the districts to look at – and one important change for 2026.

The best districts
🎉 District VII
Erzsébetváros and the Jewish Quarter – the ruin bars are on the doorstep, but it is loud at night.
🏛️ District V
The historic centre by the Danube – central, elegant and a short walk from the bars.
🌳 District VI
Andrássy Avenue and the Opera – good hotels, but short-term apartment rentals are banned since 2026.
💶 District VIII
Józsefváros – cheaper and close to the centre, but check the exact street.
🏰 Buda
Quieter and beautiful, but a taxi ride from the nightlife.

Hotel
Easy and safe
Reception, breakfast and no problems with neighbours – the simplest choice for big groups.

Together
Good for having the group under one roof – but not in District VI, and check the house rules.
Mix
Best of both
Rooms in one hotel and the party elsewhere – the most common choice.
